I went down this morning to sign up my Dog for welfare.
Is this a great country or what?
MY DOG
As the owner of a brown dog, I am highly offended (and pondering whether I should take Mr. Bartholomew’s advice). As someone fairly proficient in the art of punchlines, I’m even more offended. I mean seriously,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], way to bury the lede there. I expect much better comedic stylings from someone in as hilarious a position as “Virginia Beach GOP Chairman.” Wait,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], what? He seriously believes those things? How meta.
A victim harmed by Bartholomew's hate speech.
The joke in question? Via Gawker:
David Batholomew was the chair of Virginia Beach’s Republican party. As of last night, he resigned his position. The reason for the resignation may be the best one ever: He forwarded an email which would best be classified as a “racist dog joke.”
Bartholomew resigned mere hours after the racist joke sent from his inbox resurfaced in the hands of the media.
Another local Virginia GOP chairman told the Virginian-Pilot that Bartholomew forwarded the email without reading the contents when “he was first getting familiar with the Internet.”
So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify…

My Dog gets his first check Friday.
So I explained to her that my Dog is black, unemployed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lazy, can’t speak English and has no frigging clue who his Daddy is.
At first the lady said, “Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare”. |
